What we love to read

What we love to read January 2016

Having a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, we spend a lot of time reading and unfortunately for me we spend a lot of time reading the same books over and over.  Every few weeks I try to add something new to our library for both kids, but finding the gems that they love is sometimes just luck.  Sometimes I will buy a book thinking they will love it and they don’t want to sit through the first few pages.  Other times something that I am totally unsure about will become a huge hit and we will read it over and over.  I am always looking for new material and figure other parents are too.  Here are a few of our favorites this month.  Hope your kids love them as much as mine do.

Dragons Love Tacos by  Adam Rubin (Author), Daniel Salmieri (Illustrator)

This book is so much fun to read! My son currently loves dragons so this is a huge hit and he loves that they breathe fire 🙂

Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes by James Dean (Illustrator), Eric Litwin (Author)

This is the first Pete the Cat book we have read and it was a huge hit immediately.  My son started preschool this year and now he really enjoys reading about others going to school.  In this adventure, we get a tour of Pete’s school and the places he goes during the day. He loves this book and when you buy the book you also get access to a free song of the story and he loves to listen to that too 🙂

Doggies by Sandra Boynton

We have a ton of books by Sandra Boynton but this was my son’s favorite and now is my daughters favorite.  It’s a quick easy read and making all of the dog noises is fun for you and your kids.  Both kids love to make the noises with me and by the time we get to “9 Dogs” even our dogs are howling along.  This is one is great!

Hope you guys enjoy these titles as much as we do.  What do your kids currently love to read?

Thanks for reading!
